What “buying taxidermy online” means with us
Every specimen listed in our shop is physically in stock and photographed individually — not pulled from a supplier catalogue or stock image library. Each one carries a catalogue number, a grade, and species information, so what you see in the listing is the actual piece that ships to you.
Sourcing — where our specimens come from
We only source and list specimens through lawful channels, and we keep sourcing and provenance paperwork on file for every piece. Species subject to Australian or international wildlife trade controls are only listed once the relevant licence, permit or exemption is confirmed and documented — see our Compliance & Permits page for how that works by category, and ask us for the paperwork on a specific catalogue number any time.
Preparation and condition
Taxidermy ages differently depending on how it was tanned, mounted and stored. Before a specimen is listed, we assess hide or feather condition, mounting quality, colour retention and pose, and record the result as a grade on our seven-tier grading system — the same criteria applied consistently across every species, so “Excellent” means the same thing whether you’re looking at a fox or a fallow deer mount.
