Mountain Lion Life-Size Mount on Driftwood

This mountain lion taxidermy mount is presented life-size in a naturalistic reclining pose atop a rugged, hand-selected driftwood base, capturing the raw power and quiet intensity of North America’s most elusive big cat, the mountain lion (Puma concolor) — also known as the cougar or puma. Mounted using premium tanning and finishing techniques, the specimen retains vivid detail through the face, paws and coat, from the alert amber eyes to the dense, multi-toned fur that shifts from tawny gold across the back to soft cream at the throat and belly.

Positioned in a relaxed yet watchful stance with paws draped over the weathered driftwood, this mount is built as a genuine feature piece, equally at home in a private trophy room, lodge, wildlife gallery, office or high-end residential display. Australian collectors and interior designers increasingly favour large-scale predator mounts like this one as a striking natural history centrepiece, and the driftwood base is a natural, one-of-a-kind piece, so no two mounts of this kind are ever quite alike.

As an imported exotic species mount, this piece is supplied with the appropriate CITES Appendix II documentation, and the compliance paperwork required for legal ownership and display in Australia is handled at purchase. Every mount is prepared to museum-grade standard and shipped fully insured, Australia-wide. You can read more about the species on the Wikipedia cougar overview.
